Unique Idea: Pinboard Guestbook

This is such a unique idea, a "Guest Map" by using a pinboard as your guestbook. To make this a DIY project, simply frame a printed map on an inexpensive corkboard. (or use a little mod podge, double sided tape, etc) Have your guests pin their location. Makes for personalized wall art, and a great keepsake.
You can find tutorials on how to make DIY custom pinboards here and here.

Wedding Trend: Chalkboard

What's not to love about chalkboard? Buy some chalkboard spray paint, and get to personalizing. Here's a few ideas to get you started.

Why don't all appetizer trays have the name of the food on them? No more "mystery" snacks!
Ok, so what if you have terrible handwriting? Don't worry,  it doesn't need to be actual chalkboard to achieve the desired look. There are tons of options available for a "faux chalkboard," and here's a quick tutorial on how to create a faux chalkboard seating chart.

Wedding Trend: Cake Bunting

I need to throw a party just so I can create a cake banner. I have seen them called banner, bunting, and flags, and made from paper, felt, and fabric. They are so festive and unique, and easily personalized. Plus these would be so easy and inexpensive to make with paper, and you know how we love paper goods! (tutorial coming soon!) In the meantime here is some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.

These would be lovely for an informal wedding or bridal shower. I love the idea of hand embroidering your names on a piece of fabric, which could make a nice keepsake after the event. Set your cake on a cake stand, and accessorize with vintage frames filled with old photos, and you have a gorgeous dessert table.

Wedding Inspiration: Blue

In the need for something blue? Why not an entire blue wedding? Here's some inspiration:

I love the groomsmen in navy blue suits, and the royal blue velvet cake is gorgeous! (that is going to surprise your guests!!)

Obsession: Printed Chevron

My latest print obsession, Chevron. LOVE those pale pink invitations, with the addition of navy blue.
The dress is gorgeous, and goes with the look, without being too literal to look like a costume.
